Oro Grande is an old mining town along Old Route 66 between Victorville and Helendale, CA. Gold and Silver ore was struck in 1873 leading to the organization of Silver Mountain Mining District and the construction of the mining town of Oro Grande. In 1907 cement began to be produced and a 'company town' was built, 58 years later (in 1965) the company sold the land and homes to its workers. Cal Portland Oro Grande Cement Plant is still producing and employing residents in the area.
This duplex, built in 1940, is just under 1,000 sq ft. Both units have 1 bedroom and 1 bath and are separately metered for gas, water and sewer. In 2012 the units were both rented between $550-$600 per month and remained rented for some time. Around 2017, the units were broken into and damaged.
